I discovered that I own WAY too many bandanas and that they should be made into something useful. Since I'm kind of obsessed with making all kinds of pillows, I figured why not turn them into an easy sewing project? This is great if you want a quick way to add some change & color to a space...plus chances are you'll always have a bandana or two lying around if you think you don't have any fabric on hand. I found cute leopard print & plaid ones at Walmart. For all you sewing pros..just skip all this, you'll know what to do! First, take two bandanas of your choice. I personally like to use contrasting colors so you can just flip the pillow for a different look. Pin right sides together, and sew around all sides leaving about a 3 inch gap on one side.
Before you use that gap to turn it right side out, don't forget to clip those corners!
Stuff your pillow with fluff, poly-fill, stuffing or whatever you like to call it. You'll use about a whole [20oz] bag.
Realize your photo looks like a mouth and make a face out of it...
While you're stuffing it, make sure you get the fluff in the corners! Also be sure it's all evenly distributed; I like to hit the pillow to even it out.
Lastly, thread a needle and start sewing the opening closed with a whipstitch. As the opening gets smaller, keep adding some more pillow stuffing to fill it up. When you're at the end of the opening, tie a couple knots and put the needle through your stitches and cut the end.
Look, my macro lens comes in handy sometimes!
Hope you enjoyed this simple tutorial/craft idea. Thank you so much Sonya for having me guest post!
